We recommend dry cleaning Stella. Faux silk velvet is a delicate fabric, and its tailored seams deserve the same care you'd give fine apparel. A dry cleaner will keep both looking new for years. 
If you prefer to care for it at home, be gentle: machine wash cold on the delicate cycle, by itself, with a mild detergent, and never use the dryer. Lay flat or hang to dry. Agitation is what stresses velvet, so the gentler the cycle, the longer Stella lasts.

    This pillow is beautiful and well-made, but the picture makes it look like a regular velvet when it is actually more of a crushed velvet look. It looks VERY different in person.
